All over the world, millions of women find that they are faced with fertility issues and have been rendered infertile or unable to conceive children. This can be a devastating thing for any women to face, especially women who are looking to get pregnant and have children. It is important that any woman who is rendered infertile or fears she may be infertile understands some of the main causes behind this issue. One of the many issues that cause infertility in women is a condition known as endometriosis. It is essential that women understand how endometriosis and fertility are connected and the ways in which a woman who is having issues conceiving can get tested for this condition.

Endometriosis and fertility have long been connected and it is estimated that approximately 40% of women who are dealing with fertility issues actually have endometriosis. However, this doesn’t necessarily mean if you have endometriosis that you will be infertile; although the two are connected, endometriosis isn’t always a direct indication that you will never be able to have children. However, since the two are still connected and since endometriosis often does cause infertility it is important that you understand the condition and what it is.

The definition of endometriosis is when the body has a condition where the cells that are similar to those that form on the inside of the uterus or the uterine lining start growing on the outside of the uterus. When a woman has this condition the cells do not shed each month as they should when women gets a normal period, but they will bleed some and heal. There are a few ways to determine if you have this condition and it is typically diagnosed with lower back pain, pain during intercourse, pelvic pain and painful periods. Although symptoms do vary depending on the individual these are the most common ways to determine if you are dealing with endometriosis. However, you will want to keep in mind that this condition can only be truly diagnosed by a medical professional after doing a laparoscopy.

Getting tested for this condition is important because endometriosis and fertility are so commonly associated to one another. The good news is with this condition there are ways to treat and manage the symptoms associated with this medical issue. In order to get started with treatments and with finding out if you have endometriosis you will want to make sure you visit a medical professional to find out about the different tests that are available, especially if you are dealing with infertility and want to get to the root of your problem.
