Depending on when you are planning to be in Dallas, there are plenty of opportunities to take advantage of various Dallas attractions for kids. For example, if you are in the area in October, the three-week State Fair of Texas is a great time for everyone in the family, but especially for little ones who enjoy the carnival, the animals, and the cotton candy.

If the Fair is already over or upcoming during your stay in Dallas, that's okay. You will still have the opportunity to take your kids for a day trip to the Dallas Zoo, which features over 100 acres of enclosed wildlife. The award-winning Dallas Zoo provides a learning opportunity for children to discover and absorb more information than anyone could every handle about African wildlife and terrains, as well as a petting zoo and other exhibits at the facility.

Other Dallas attractions for kids include the Dallas Aquarium at Fair Park or the Dallas World Aquarium, the latter of which features not only aquatic life, but some other kinds of wildlife, as well (including monkeys). If you go to the former, you will find over 6,000 species of underwater or marine life showcased, including fish and reptiles, amphibians and vertebrates. Moreover, Fair Park also hosts the Museum of Nature and Science, as well.

Kids and adults visiting Dallas often enjoy, among other Dallas attractions for kids, the actors and actresses who portray life on the prairie at Old City Park. If your children are into plays and acting, they might also enjoy the Dallas Children's Theater, too.

Arlington and Grand Prairie also have Dallas attractions for kids that may appeal to adults, as well, such as Six Flags Over Texas, Splash Mountain Water Park, as well as opportunities for outdoor fun, ranging from lake fishing, boating or water-skiing to hiking, camping and climbing.

Disabled children can also play with other children with greater ease at Fantasy Landing, a public playground for all children that has special accommodations for those with physical disabilities. With ramps that are specially customized and equipment that can be used by children in wheelchairs, this innovative playground is fun for kids of all ages, including those with “diffabilities” (different abilities).

Kids may also enjoy getting their creative juices flowing at the Nasher Sculpture Center, where free events occur every Saturday for kids. Art projects, sculpture instruction, scavenger hunts, and story time are all components of this kid-themed art-centered kid art center. Whatever your plans, finding Dallas attractions for kids is not a great difficulty.
